To Meet Basic Needs With Dignity

Our task was to create a 6 word story. This is based off what is believed to be Ernest Hemmingway’s 6 word story: “For sale: baby shoes, never worn.” Hemmingway’s story is so powerful and really makes the audience feel pain and heartbreak for the people who have to sell these shoes. I actually had some trouble creating a story that meant something with only 6 words. I decided on “To Meet Basic Needs With Dignity.” I chose it because we often think of what our idea of utopia is in this world. This six word story is mine, at its most simplistic level. I wish that people could meet their needs with dignity. Everyone is worthy of honor, respect, and being able to live a life where you don’t need to worry about shelter or food on the table.
